zhangjiajie
> Zhangjiajie, a newly emerging international tourism city which lies on the north-western part of Hunan Province, covers an area of 9,563 square kilometers and has a large population of 1.68 million, 70% of whom belong to the Tujia, Bai and Miao ethnic minorities. And most of ethnic minorities are Tujia people in this area.
In 1992, it was declared into the list of World Natural Heritage by the UNESCO for its lush vegetation, unique sandstone pillars, pristine waters and a wide variety of species of flora and fauna. In 2004, it was listed into the World Geological Park.
