Dehang Village, located in the west suburbs of Jishou city. Dehang means a "beautiful valley" in Miao language. In the scenic spot, streams are crossing through deep valleys and mountains. Spectacular waterfalls, ancient trees and fragrant flowers, rare birds and animals are everywhere. You will have a better understanding to the Miao minority after visiting this village. In the village, the Miao drum dance is renowned domestically and internationally, thus it has the title of “the home of drum”. China’s Miao Studies Institute regards the Miao culture in Dehang scenic area as the origin of Miao culture in southwest China.
